Bored Cast-in-Place Piles
A job in Killybegs, Co. Donegal involved 66 number 400mm diameter piles installed both vertically and raking to carry loads up to 1600kN. The piles were up to 14m in depth and had a casing installed in all locations at least 2m into the rock head. These casings were then filled with concrete and a reinforcing cage installed the full lenght of the pile. The piles were to provide a foundation for a new slipway.
