Tripod Bored Piling

The tripod rig is a light weight and can be installed in difficult access sites and low head room. Piles can be installed at 450mm diameter and 600mm diameter to depths of up to 25 metres dependent on ground conditions. In unstable ground a temporary casing is installed by the rig to provide hole support.

The construction method
1. Overburden is removed from the hole by drop tools
2. After completion of boring the temporary casing is left in and the pile reinforcement is placed in.
3. As concrete is placed the temporary casing is progressively withdrawn.
